ALi PCI USB 2.0 Trouble

I bought this Ali chip PCI USB 2.0 card and it came in the mail and when I installed it. It didn't work. Imediately I started searching the internet to look for a solution. By the way this is the second PCI USB 2.0 card I ave tried on this computer. The first was bought from this small company on ebay. This company actually made the card and it didn't work so I was affraid it was just cheaply made. Anyway I bought the recent card from Compusa. I was having so much trouble with the newest card. I then went to my IRQ and noticed that they were being shared. I also found out that you can not change these using Windows Xp OS. Another one of Microsoft's Genious Ideas. Anyway, I went to the movies tonight and it was storming outside. I had my computer working for like a minute. Well it was storming and I didn't want my computer to fry so I unplugged it. It was unplugged for like 7 hrs. I came home turned on my pc and the card is working. I don't know what changed, but it is a weird glitch. I have read that these Ali chips are horrible, everything I have read suggests buying a NEC chipset.

iPod Stuff!

This past weekend I was trying to install Ubuntu server on another partition on my hard drive. Well somehow it didn't work out as planned. So yeah, I lost everything. Well everything except for the stuff on my iPod. I had 98% of my digital photos and music saved on my iPod. What a handy little device. So yeah, I was able to recover all my photos. But what about the music that is saved on my iPod. Well I downloaded a little piewce of software from http://www.ephpod.com/. This is awesome software that allows you to download all your music from your iPod to anywhere on your computer. This saved me all the trouble from loading all the cds back onto my computer, not to mention downloading all the songs that I had downloaded before. Believe me it was even worth the thought. So save yourself a lot of time and use Ephpod.
Ok thanks for reading.
